scripts: use #!/usr/bin/env bash shebang instead of #!/bin/bash
...
Some distributions might not have bash in /bin, but in $PATH.
Using #!/usr/bin/env bash solves this, and is consistent with how the
perl and python shebangs look like in the tree.

kbuild: Use ls(1) instead of stat(1) to obtain file size
...
stat(1) is not standardized and different implementations have their own
(conflicting) flags for querying the size of a file.
ls(1) provides the same information (value of st.st_size) in the 5th
column, except when the file is a character or block device. This output
is standardized[0]. The -n option turns on -l, which writes lines
formatted like
"%s %u %s %s %u %s %s\n", <file mode>, <number of links>,
<owner name>, <group name>, <size>, <date and time>,
<pathname>
but instead of writing the <owner name> and <group name>, it writes the
numeric owner and group IDs (this avoids /etc/passwd and /etc/group
lookups as well as potential field splitting issues).
The <size> field is specified as "the value that would be returned for
the file in the st_size field of struct stat".
To avoid duplicating logic in several locations in the tree, create
scripts/file-size.sh and update callers to use that instead of stat(1).

gen-dtb-s: Put compressed dtb in different section
...
For builtin dtbs all compiled dtbs matching section .dtb.rodata.*
are collected in a single section. Since every dtb is compiled as
uncompressed and also as compressed binary each dtb ends up twice
in the section. Let's put the compressed variants in .dtbz.rodata.*
sections rather than .dtb.rodata.*.z so they end up in the binary
only once.

ARM: Allow compressed dtb binaries
...
In the current multi image build process the DTBs end up uncompressed
in the PBL. This can be annoying because the PBL is often very size
constrained.
This patch allows to put the DTBs in as lzo compressed binary into
the PBL. Since lzo offers quite good compression ratios for DTBs no
other compression algorithm has been implemented for now.
Boards which want to use the compressed DTBs only have to change
the __dtb_ prefix in the DTB name to __dtb_z_. Also they should select
ARM_USE_COMPRESSED_DTB to make sure barebox supports uncompressing
the DTB.

Add support for metadata in barebox images
...
It's often useful to get some information about a barebox image
before starting or flashing it. This patch introduces barebox
Image MetaData (IMD). When enabled a barebox image will contain
a list of tags containing the desired information. We have tags
for:
- the barebox release (2014.07.0-00160-g035de50-dirty)
- the build timestamp (#741 Mon Jul 28 15:08:54 CEST 2014)
- the board model the image is intended for
- the device tree toplevel compatible property
Also there is an additional generic key-value store which stores
parameters for which no dedicated tag exists. In this patch it
is used for the memory size an image supports.
Since there is no fixed offset in a barebox image which can be
used for storing the information, the metadata is stored somewhere
in the image and found by iterating over the image. This works
for most image types, but obviously not for SoC images which are
encoded or encrypted in some way.
There is a 'imd' tool compiled from the same sources for barebox,
for the compile host and for the target, so the metadata information
is available whereever needed.
For device tree boards the model and of_compatible tags are automatically
generated.
Example output of the imd tool for a Phytec phyFLEX image:
build: #889 Wed Jul 30 16:08:54 CEST 2014
release: 2014.07.0-00167-g6b2070d-dirty
parameter: memsize=1024
of_compatible: phytec,imx6x-pbab01 phytec,imx6dl-pfla02 fsl,imx6dl
model: Phytec phyFLEX-i.MX6 Duallite Carrier-Board
